first post...

First post on here... I really don't care if people read this or not, I know I'm bad haters just don't read it. This is primarily going to be about sports and right now, mainly about the gopher basketball team. I feel like this could be the sport Minnesota has been waiting for that will play up to the hype. There was one team with high expectations with high egos (Vikings) that imploded with a mixture of media and locker room drama. Another team who looked to be that team to rise to the occasion (Twins), but then got concussed, John McDonald kneed the MVP out while the Yankee's kneed the rest of the team. And another team who basically is saying, don't expect anything (Wolves)... BUT STILL PLEASE BUY OUR TICKETS! All of those teams do show promise in the upcoming years, but Besides Gopher hockey, our fine state's sports teams has been as frozen as the roads outside my house. Gophers through three games have not been pretty, having seeing two on t.v. and one in person, I'm not quite ready to say that we are a great 8 (elite 8 is retarded) talent, but there is potential. Seeing the improvement Rodney Williams has made over the summer is very promising knowing him with Trevor Mbakwe actually grab everything that is lower than 20 feet off the ground. Ralph Sampson has started to show glimpses of "what has daddy gave him" which is sound defense and a level low post game. It is evident though that we are limping on the offensive end without Devoe Joesph. Because of undisclosed team related violations, he has been sidelined which gives us a lack of a go-to-guy. The Freshman have been excelling with great poise that begins with Austin Hollins. The son of Memphis Grizzlies head coach, Hollins adds more athleticism to team who seems to be recruiting for athleticism, and that strategy is starting to pay off. Tubby's starting to show why we should start naming the basketballs they play with "Tubby Balls" and give him the dean's office as his lounge at the U. My one question is why we aren't doing anything possible to renew a contract with a man who brought this sport back to prominence for the first time since the 1990's? Roughly thirty games are left to play so there is no reason why they HAVE to humiliate West Virginia today, but Minnesota sports fans would enjoy being on the other side of the beat down for once.
